800 boys and girls participate with 300 families. They need new bleacher seats and to pay off the debt on their new electric lights. Parents raise the operating budget with dues and food sales. And they need to start saving for other capitol improvements which can not be privately financed.

2 Lower Loudoun Boys and Girls Softball Leagues respectively -- needs $20,000

They have been waiting years for LLBFL, their neighbor, to make any capitol improvments. "The largest youth sports league
on the smallest lots" still need little things that cost a few bucks outside of the operating costs.

3 Good Sheppard Alliance --needs $25,000

They feed, cloth and house the poorest among us year round on short notice. Over 500 people were helped last year.

4 Link Food Bank -- needs $20,000

They feed 8500 people each year and growing. Just celebrated their 30th year at a BOS ceremony

5 Sterling Foundation --- needs $2500 per sponsor

They get the trees planted in the median and have a plan to do more in phase 3. (currently STALLED, see item in this news)
Any donation is matched with grants. The humble "Sterling Tree Lady" makes sure every donor dollar is matched by $5 or $10 in grants. Thank you Sterling Tree Lady. They also organize the annual Sterlingfest in Downtown Sterling and need four
$2500 sponsors.

6 Sterling Community Center/Sterling Library and Gazebo needs $25,000

You support the Center and Gazebo by renting it out for a fee, paying fees for events or classes,
holding your parties there and volunteering. Raise funds for the Library. Any extra money usually goes to purchasing more books and extra hours of operation.

7 Sterling Volunteer Fire Department -- needs $150,000

You volunteer as 1,000 others do and please donate money. The county will pay for a facility but all the equipment needs private donations for the 100 per cent Sterling volunteer fire department

They had their annual fireworks canceled but each year they organize the largest fireworks in Sterling with 10,000 people watching.

10 Park View High School Band. -- needs $15,000 for expenses.

The largest group with the biggest costs but the longest lasting benefit. 100s of middle schoolers and high schoolers
play their hearts out in heat and cold and drill regularly for all of us. Sometimes a poor student needs an instrument
or sometimes a trip is just too expensive.
