Sterling Citizens will have a new way to interact with the Loudoun County government.

Beginning December 15, 2014, Sterling residents and businesses will be able to submit requests and questions to county staff through an improved online tool, Loudoun Express Request (LEx).

The new tool will feature an expanded selection of request types, a user-friendly interface and real-time updates from staff. Users of the system will also be able to submit photos with their inquiries.

Request types span a variety of the county's departments and services, including the Departments of Building and Development; Health, Transportation and Capital Infrastructure; Parks, Recreation and Community Services, and more.

For requests that have an impact on many residents, such as litter complaints or inquiries about the county's Commuter Bus Service, a submitter has the option to make the request public, so other community members can follow along for updates and answers.

THERE IS ONE COMPLICATED STEP IN THE FORM PROCEDURE

Residents will have to create an account to submit their requests through LEx and users of the current ACR system, which LEx is replacing, will need to create a new account for this tool. Loudoun plans to release a mobile version of LEx in 2015. The app will be available on both iOS and Android devices.

LEx is a component of Loudoun County's continuing effort to use technology to support transparency, accountability and efficiency, and is part of the county's mission to provide high quality customer service to Sterling and Loudoun citizens.
