In March, this year, before Ken Cuccinelli hijacked our state convention and before the Cuccinelli/Cruz debacle in Cleveland, I wrote an article calling out RPV leadership (Hedlund: Integrity and Honor Need Restoration at RPV). Nobody in RPV leadership cared to listen. Nobody in RPV leadership cared to do anything.

At the 7th District Convention in May, where I was elected by 65% of the delegates, I called out RPV leadership (Hedlund Speech to 7th District Delegates). Nobody in RPV leadership cared to listen. Nobody in RPV leadership cared to do anything.

After the Cleveland convention, I wrote an article calling out RPV leadership (Hedlund: What Happens in Cleveland Stays in Cleveland - Not!). Nobody in RPV leadership cared to listen. Nobody in RPV leadership cared to do anything.

Last week, two days before the RPV State Central Committee vote, I posted an article on Virginia Right (Time to Call a Spade a Spade by Ron L. Hedlund) calling out RPV leadership and explaining my position as to why I no longer support conventions. Nobody in RPV leadership cared to listen. Nobody in RPV leadership cared to do anything. I must admit, one Conservative Fellowship leader did ask, the morning of the vote, if there was anything they could do to get my vote. My response, looking him squarely in the eye was, "Not today." Too little, too late.

On Saturday, August 27, I switched my vote from convention to primary in a 41-40-1 (Chairman John Whitbeck abstained by proxy) roll call vote on a motion for a primary to nominate our statewide candidates. CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?

Somebody is listening. Alec Thomas (see below) was my opponent for an SCC seat. Thank you, Alec.
