Sterling: $90,000 To Honor Students

Sterling District Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio signed and distributed
over the last several weeks 1,557 personalized congratulatory letters to
honor roll students for two grading periods at Park View High School and
Sterling Middle School.

Delgaudio has also sent 263 letters with gifts to honor roll students at
Sterling area private schools and some homeshooling families.

"These students have worked hard all year, and this is the least we can
do to reward them," said Delgaudio. "The entire Sterling community is
very proud of them. I'd also like to thank all the generous local
businesses who join me in congratulating them."

Students making the honor roll for the third grading period received
gifts, cards and passes from Chick-Fil-A, Virginia Regional Transit,
Washington Sports Club, Glory Days Grill, Jerry's Subs and Pizza, Zaaza,
Dick's Sporting Goods and Sterling Park Golf, Swim and Tennis Club.

Chick-Fil-A, Ashburn Ice House, Ultra Zone Lazer Tag of Sterling, Gold's
Gym, Virginia Regional Transit, Washington Sports Club, Wendy's, Sheetz,
Outback Steakhouse, Papa John's Pizza, Dick's Sporting Goods, Longhorn
Steakhouse, Zaaza, Corner Bakery Café, Costco and Sterling Park Golf,
Swim and Tennis Club donated to students making the honor roll for the
second grading period.

The total value of the gifts from Sterling-area businesses is around
$90,000. This surpasses last years total of $60,000 in gifts to honor
roll students.

"No other ice cream like it" says Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio.

"Sweet Tooth" is a small ice cream parlor that is a first for Sterling.
It is located behind CVS Pharmacy next to Jazzercize, on the other side
of Big Lots. This ice cream is made in Sterling using natural
ingredients and will make you remember the way Sterling used to be. Some
local reporters and celebrities have made it to the shop already.

Local citizens will hold their second get-together for addressing and
cooperatively troubleshooting community improvement and development
issues. The last meeting attracted 50 people. This meeting will take
place Tuesday, June 20, at 7 p.m. in the Eastern Loudoun Regional Library.

I helped raise $1000 for the Project Graduation for Park View High
school and would also like to thank the Dulles Golf Center on Route 28
for 281 Year Round Student passes and 281 free Miniature Golf passes for
graduating seniors. I will volunteer all night June 16 at the school to
assist in the Seniors all night party.

Greenvest's Packie Crown delivered a check for $5,000 to the Sully
Parent Teacher organization last week to help with their Science
Playground. This brings to $94,000 the amount raised towards a $130,000
goal. If you can, please write a check for $5,000, $3,000 or $1000 or
any amount and get it to Valerie or Peter at the Sully PTO. Thank you.
