Your tax dollars are being used to fight a tax increase imposed on us from Richmond.
I introduced the board voted 9 to 0 to oppose all the "abuser" taxes to be administered by the "NVTA" and passed by the state legislature. The other resolution I supported asked the County attorney to be ready to file suit against the "abuser" taxes.
Jack Roberts, the County attorney has filed a "Response and Answer of the Board of Supervisors of Loudoun County, Virginia" on August 3, 2007 in the NVTA bond validation suit. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for August 15, this week, and the trial is August 27 and 28, in Arlington Circuit Court. The Loudoun county attorney will be filing a brief in support of the Board's position of opposition to the "abuser taxes" prior to the trial date.
