ADULT JOB FAIR THURSDAY

>>>500 Teens Attend Sterling Teen Job Fair

The Sterling Teen Job Fair was a tremendous success. Yesterday, over 500 teenagers poured in from age 15 to 18, and a total of 30 tables were staffed by 60 adults, volunteers and recruiters. Every company reported a banner day and worked with teens to fill out a stack of applications at each table. A dozen companies said "we don't have to do any more interviews, we have our new hires in this stack."

Every young job applicant was handed free bus passes from Virginia Regional Transit which is a big plus to get around Sterling and Loudoun if you do not own a car.

Thank you to the many companies that came. Thank you to my staff and all the volunteers. Thank you to the county, school board and members of the news media who frequently wrote about the job fair. Delegate Tom Rust and Telos CEO John Wood met with 100s of teens and many parents expressed their appreciation.

Thank you to the teens who are took the chance and applied for all these jobs and congratulations to the teens who are being hired. To those who were not hired, this is a big start. Keep trying. My staff needs a rest. On Monday we must begin with our next big project of course.

I went to the last one held by Congressman Wolf. There were thousands of people. This is a good time to plan on going. Get there at least one hour early and if you can, earlier.
