October 6, 2010 STERLINGFEST SATURDAY

Dear Sterling American,

Thank you to those of you who attended the successful fundraising events for the Loudoun Republicans at the Senior Center last Saturday and thank you to 150 citizens attended the Bob Marshall event in Creighton Farms out west.

STERLINGFEST THIS SATURDAY-- Be There

(SHORT) STERLINGFEST Saturday October 9th

The parade by the Knights of Columbus will begin at 10 AM, in the morning, starting at Park View HS and ending at Holly Avenue.

Then the Sterlingfest street fair will begin at 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is a lot of entertainment. The Park View HS band will play this year at Sterlingfest. There will be 100 booths. See you there.

(LONG) Who or What kind of people go to Sterlingfest?

Rev. Charlie Grant, Sterling's one of Sterling's most dedicated citizens, he is a former Supervisor, has led a Christian ministry, fed the poor and provided clothing and housing on short notice to the less fortunate, ministered as a chaplain for the fire and rescue units, hosted food service in emergencies and raised over $20 million in private-public partnerships through a foundation to provide bus service to every Loudoun citizen who does not have a car including 500 Sterling Park teens who were awarded free bus passes to get around.

Mark Gunderman who serves on the board of the Good Shepard Alliance and serves as a LINK coordinator for all the churches for the longest time. A former "citizen of the year" named by the LTM newspaper Gunderman also.

Helena Syska, current Planning Commissioner for Sterling, Math and Science teacher for grammer school students.

Meet and thank the 9 directors of the Sterling Foundation that help organize Sterlingfest for 23 years. Kevin Chroninger Chairman Tony Barney Vice Chairman/Promotion/Webmaster Karen Teague-Peko Treasurer Stephanie Hostetter Secretary Willie West SterlingFest Event Chairman Phil Hostetter Roxanne Tyra Ed Linek Marlene Barney Promotion/Communication.

Greet the Knights of Columbus who lead the parade at 10 a.m. down Sterling boulevard every year preceeding Sterlingfest. They have been doing it for a long time.

Last year, Grand Marshalls Bill Jr. and Jody Furlong (and Bill's wife Beverly). The Knights were especially honored to have them participate in last year's parade, an event coordinated by their dad "Wojo" for 25 years.

This year Warren Guerin will be the grand marshall. Wave to him. Maybe you will wave to me too!

Cheer the Sterling Playmakers. Applaud the Park View HS Band. Explore the Volunteer Fire House (consider bringing them your donation of support from the mailing earlier this week). Meet the deputies who have worked night and day to make Sterling safe.

There will be scouts and scout leaders, and youth groups of all kinds along with their parents and leaders.

Thank the sponsors who donated $2500 to Sterlingfest: Avcome Visual Arts, Comcast, Jumpworks, First Potomac Realty Trust and Time Community News and other sponsors. And visit 100 other booths and vendors.

For the young children, collect a authentic Sterling Rubber duckling at the Eugene Delgaudio table!

WOLF SIGNS AND STICKERS

Call Caleb at 703 817-9691 for your yard sign for Frank Wolf for Congress or to schedule helping him with some walking around. Frank Wolf's opponent steals the Wolf signs, so make sure you have your sign in front of your door or front window.

Please also forgive Frank Wolf's opponent for stealing the bright orange color from my campaign.

GOP Chairman Mark Sell, national gop leader Jo-ann Chase and celebrity fundraiser Liz Mills, who organized the largest fundraiser ever for Bob Marshall, are pushing a fundraiser for Frank Wolf to replace the stolen Wolf signs which number in the 1000s for Friday, October 15, 2010 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Belmont Country Club 19661 Belmont Manor Lane Ashburn, Virginia. Its a little steep at $150 per person but there are a lot of signs gone.

Sincerely,
