One Dead, One Injured in Sterling Shooting Incident

Loudoun County, VA: A 28-year old Loudoun County man is dead and his 32-year-old companion critically injured after what is reported to be a botched home invasion robbery last night (February 10th).

Shortly after 8:30 PM, Loudoun County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence in the 1200 block of E. Kennedy Dr., Sterling, for a report of a suspicious event. Occupants of the home reported that two men had burst into the residence and attempted to rob them. One of the robbers was reportedly shot and still in the residence while the other had fled.

Deputies secured the scene and found an adult male in the residence who had been shot. Loudoun Rescue units responded and the man was transported to Inova Loudoun Hospital at Lansdowne, where he was pronounced dead.

The second subject was apparently driven to the same hospital with a gunshot wound. He was transferred to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he is listed in critical, but stable condition. The vehicle used to transport him to the hospital has been located, but the driver has not been identified. Anyone with information about this individual is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 703-777-0445.

The names of the deceased and the injured man are being withheld pending notification of their families. Except for the driver, all individuals involved, including witnesses, have been identified. The case remains under investigation.
