Sheriff Investigates Assault of College Student Near Sterling NOVA Campus Monday Night

Detectives with the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office are investigating an assault of a female student that occurred Monday night near the Loudoun Campus of Northern Virginia Community College.

On Tuesday morning, a female student reported that sometime between 7:20PM and 8PM on Monday she was walking from the campus to a bus stop located in the 21100 block of Potomac View Road.

An unknown male started talking to her about the bus. He tried to kiss her cheek, and then he hugged and kissed her. A similar incident that occurred on the NOVA Loudoun Campus was reported around 7PM Monday to the NOVA Police. Detectives with the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office are working with personnel from the NOVA Police Department to determine if the cases are related.

The suspect in the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office case is described as a White, possibly Hispanic, male in his 20's. In the NOVA Police case he is described as a White, possibly Middle Eastern, male. Both victims described the suspect as being approximately 5'6" to 5'7" tall with an athletic build and short black hair. He also speaks with a thick accent of unknown descent. The suspect was further described as wearing a dark colored T-shirt and striped shorts.
